Third Ward Monday Senior Golf League
The Third Warders Monday Senior Golf League was established in 2017 and plays Monday afternoons at Deerwood. The League President is Gerry 'Swi' Matecki assisted by Paul 'Bones' Borowiec (Secretary) and Matty Rusin (Treasurer).
IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR SEASON NINE - ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR 3/8/2025
The weather sure doesn't make you think about Spring, but the calendar says it's almost time to tee it up for our 2025 season - our ninth! To kick things off, we have scheduled our annual organizational meeting for Saturday 3/8/2025 at the Third Ward Club at 12:00 noon. All league participants (team members and subs) should plan on attending. The agenda for the meeting will include a confirmation of team rosters, review of the new schedule and a review of the rules for 2025. All participants should also plan on paying their league fees for the coming season - the charges are spelled out below (note - no change from last year). Rosters and schedules for the new season will be handed out as well.
Fees for 2025 season (note - no change from last year) -
- $40. per team player playing in one league only
- $40. per sub (subs can choose to sub in both leagues if they wish at no additional charge, just need to declare it)
- $65. for anyone playing on a team in both leagues
- $50. for anyone playing on a team in one league and subbing in the other
All of the updated documents for the 2025 season are also now attached to this website as well. Here is a summary -
Roster - reflects new team number assignments for the new season. Also includes updated averages and handicaps, which reflect last years average (and subsequent handicap) for the entire season. These averages and handicaps will be used for the first five weeks of the 2025 season.
Scoresheet - same format as previous seasons. The scheduled course that we are playing for a particular week is noted as well, Also included is the tee that individuals played from last year. Anyone can opt to make a change this season if they'd like, just need to do it in the first week of play (and note on scorecard accordingly).
Schedule - reflects new team number assignments. Course assignment for each week of play is noted on the schedule as well (course rotation is 'Front of 18', same as last year). Our first week of play is Monday, April 28th and we finish on Monday, August 25th. There is no play on Memorial Day (May 26th).
Rules - No rule changes from last year. Like last year, we will not have make-ups this season - any week cancelled due to weather, no carts, etc. will not be made up. Our starting tee time is 12:32 PM. Any rules can be discussed at our kick-off meeting as well if needed.
So... time to dust off those clubs and get out to the dome to start practicing. Or, better yet, get down south and play some real golf. Either way, it won't be long before our new season 'tees it up'.
